Welcome to the amazing life of author, Buck Kalinowski or, "Farmer Buck" as he is affectionately known by, and the wonderful world of Hillside Equestrian Meadows.
When Buck rescued a sickly little mare from slaughter in the spring of 1999, he had no idea how "Cupid" as she was named, would change his life. Inspired by her story, Buck has written two children's books--Cupid's Secret and The Adventures of Arrow. He is currently awaiting the release of his third book "Lovie's Prayer".
The stories have drawn national attention to these horses and have kept the author busy with appearances at horse expos and book signings across the country. If that weren't enough, notice regarding a motion picture in the works was recently released--
"The screen version of Cupid & Arrow will be produced by Barry Glasser as a major independent family film. Mr. Glasser, the co-producer of Little Nemo and a former executive at Disney and Fox, see Cupid & Arrow as a classic family film in the tradition of Black Stallion and My Dog Skip. The film will be followed by an animated television series focusing on Cupid and Arrow and Buck's other four-legged friends, Lovie the dog and Oliver the goat.
Buck has also teamed up with Jacque Miller of Pastime, Inc. to develop a national program called RESCUE to assist horse rescue organizations across the nation with much needed funding. For more on this program, please contact Jacque Miller at PSTMS@AOL.COM.
Buck still resides at Hillside Equestrian Meadows located in Wolcott, Connecticut where he continues his work with individuals with special needs and inner-city youths. Treating animals with the same respect as you would treat people is the principle Buck lives by and teaches to others. His philosophy is as simple as the words printed on his Cupid & Arrow tee shirt--
